A new Gold Star Families Memorial Monument (GSFMM) honoring the families of servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives while serving in the military is currently being planned in Springfield IL.
Oak Ridge Cemetery has the distinction of being the second most visited cemetery in the nation, second only to Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC. Oak Ridge Cemetery is the final resting place of our sixteenth President, Abraham Lincoln. In addition to the Lincoln Tomb, there are memorials to World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Groundbreaking took place on October 30, 2017 at the War Memorials.
